I would like to make a request; hopefully, without overstepping my bounds. I approve of everything except the 20ft/surrender/barrel tag rule. I feel that leaving options open will cause confusion and with it, tempers to flare. Some will believe that the 20ft rule will be enforced. Others that the surrender rule will be enforced. And still others will take it upon themselves to try to make physical contact with other players and barrel tag them. It’s the human condition to misunderstand and assume.

I feel that a broad rule would be better. Let players know that there will be no 20ft rule but also let them know that unsportsmanlike conduct(physical contact, overshooting, etc) will not be tolerated. A shot or two should be all that is necessary when that close. Surrendering should be at the discretion of the players. More often than not, when I surrender people I’m shot out of reflex or surprise. I feel its worth it but others might not see it that way. As for barrel tags, I’m simply not a fan. People get upset when handled and rightly so. Upset people do stupid things that jeopardize safety.

Well, that is my two cents. I hope to have my ego out of shop by next week and be on the field for your event next Saturday. Will see you tomorrow. I may be out of my element in the woods but I’m not dumb enough to walk onto terror squads turf without a look around first.

Sounds great Brock, get them out to the field, as knowing the layout of the field is and will be a large factor in this game.
